French and Italian Ministers of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu and Guido Crosetto, held a meeting in Rome on January 27, 2023.
During the talks, they allegedly agreed to order 700 missiles worth about EUR 2 billion.
"Today in Rome, we agreed on a common intention to continue to support Ukraine, to defend the Mediterranean Sea from new threats and to increase our joint production capacity, in particular in the field of air defense," Sébastien Lecornu tweeted.

At the same time, Reuters reported that France and Italy are close to finalizing the technical details of the supply of SAMP/T air defense systems to Ukraine.
