Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv regional military administration, announced this on Telegram.

"After 5 in the morning, large-scale rocket launches from the territory of Belarus. There is preliminary information about a hit near Goncharivske. Our air defense is also working," he noted.

The Operational Command North added on Facebook that from 5:20 to 6:30 on July 28, Belarusian sources reported the launch of more than 20 missiles from the territory of Belarus.

"Currently, it is known about the arrival of 9 rockets in the territory of Goncharivske community of Chernihiv region, which fell into the forest. Our air defense system was also working," OC North emphasized.

Later, Vyacheslav Chaus wrote on Telegram that on July 28, more than 10 shellings were recorded in the Chernihiv region. For security reasons, it is not reported where exactly the hits took place.  Information on victims and destruction is being clarified.

"I very much ask you not to ignore the alarm signals and go to shelter as much as possible. At the moment, many questions are being received about the situation on the border. In particular, I am interested in whether the second phase of the enemy's ground operation has not begun. As of 7:12, the situation at the border is under control. We have shelling of the border. They are the same as they have been for the past few months. The State Border Service of Ukraine monitors the situation at the state border," he said.

The regional head called on the residents of the Chernihiv region, especially the northern communities, to observe the ban on visiting forests. According to Vyacheslav Chaus, there is a risk to life and health, because the region is preparing to meet Russian forces if they invade a second time.
