Fighting for Soledar continues - AFU’s General Staff 

This was reported in the evening update of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The battles for Soledar continue," the report said, informing about the situation in the Bakhmut direction at the front.

According to the General Staff, on January 13, in Bakhmut direction, Russian forces fired at the settlements of Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiyivka, Kurdyumivka, Druzhba and Pivnichne in Donetsk region.

•  Russia said that on January 12 its troops allegedly completely captured Soledar in the Donetsk region. Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesman for the Eastern Grouping of the Armed Forces, denied the claim but refused to elaborate.
• Previously, Russian statements about the capture of Soledar were denied on January 11.
