Export of Ukrainian grain through Poland increases by 50%
About 450,000 tons of Ukrainian grain is transported through Poland every month, which is 50% more than in the middle of the year
Reuters reported this with reference to the statement of Poland's Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk.
“About 452,000 tons of Ukrainian grain are currently transported through the territory of Poland within the framework of the so-called solidarity lanes, which is 50% more than in the middle of the year,” he said.
According to him, compared to October last year, the growth of grain transportation for the same period in 2022 is more than 16 times.
The agency emphasizes that Ukraine is one of the world's leading exporters of grain and oil seeds, and Russia's blockade of its ports after Moscow's invasion of the country in February prompted the search for alternative routes.
After an almost six-month blockade by the Russian Federation, three Ukrainian Black Sea ports were unblocked at the end of July in accordance with the grain agreement mediated by the United Nations and Turkey.
