This was reported by Ukraine’s Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security.
Vitaliy Matvienko, spokesman for the Coordination Headquarters on Prisoners of War, said that most of them are servicemen under the age of 40.
"Every day from 70 to 100 occupants want to surrender under the I Want to Live project. The main age category is 20, 35, 40 years old. Then 40+, but their number of appeals is smaller. Professional servicemen of the Russian army also apply," the statement said.
- As of December 16, Ukraine received applications from more than 4,000 Russian servicemen who wanted to surrender as part of the I Want to Live project.
- The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported that in the process of exchange of prisoners, Russian representatives divide people into "sorts" and form lists based on this criteria.
