The presidents of Ukraine and Turkey have discussed the war in Ukraine. During a phone conversation, Recep Erdogan has reportedly offered Volodymyr Zelenskyy mediation in negotiations with Putin

Turkey’s Hurriyet reported that during a phone conversation with Zelenskyy, Turkey’s President Erdogan said that he was ready to make a "powerful diplomatic contribution to the establishment of a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine," including mediation in the negotiation process.

The Turkish president also expressed condolences over the tragic helicopter crash in Brovary on January 18.

On January 10, Turkey announced that it supports President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's "peace formula" and hopes that the war between Ukraine and Russia will be ended at the negotiating table.
On January 19, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that the resumption of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has become more complicated, with many different areas of discussion.
