The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to March 06, 24 are estimated at

General Staff report: Ukrainian Defense Forces repel Russian attacks in 6 directions, mostly in Novopavlivka

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the invading Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated 6 Russian attacks near Verkhniokamianske and Terny in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces countered 2 Russian attacks near Ivanivske and Bila Hora in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 23 Russian troops' attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Nevelske, Semenivka and Orlivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian forces in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region. The Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 39 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces carried out 5 attacks in the vicinity of Huliaipole, Malynivka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Over the past day, the Russian forces conducted three unsuccessful assault operations.

Russian troops conducted 4 missile strikes and 106 air strikes against Ukraine

Over the last day, 86 combat engagements took place.

In total, the Russian forces launched 4 missile strikes, 106 air strikes, fired 154 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

At night, Russian troops once again attacked Ukraine using Shahed UAVs. Ukrainian defense forces downed 38 out of 42 of these drones. Information on casualties and damage to infrastructure is being clarified.

2 settlements in Kharkiv region; 1 settlement in Luhansk region; 7 settlements in Donetsk region; 2 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by air strikes.

More than 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces hit a Russian ship and two control points

Units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed a Russian ship of the 22160 project Sergey Kotov.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 11 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

Ukrainian missile troops struck 2 Russian control points, an area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system and a Zoo-1 reconnaissance and fire control radar system.

  • Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War say that Russian aviation continues to carry out a relatively large number of air strikes on Ukraine, despite the effective destruction of Russian aircraft by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
