Russian forces launched 25 attacks in the past day in the Marinka direction, Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces repelled the assaults, eliminating 990 Russian soldiers

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to January 26, 2024, amounted to:

General Staff report: Russian troops try to storm Marinka direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel 25 attacks

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fended off 6 Russian attacks near Synkivka and Tabaivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces fought off 5 attacks near Terny and Torske, Donetsk region, and 2 more attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repulsed 8 Russian attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders hold back Russian troops, who keep trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invading forces. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 10 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske, Donetsk region, over the last day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops hold back Russian troops near Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops beat back 25 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces rebuffed 6 Russian troops' attacks southeast of Vodyane, Zolota Nyva and west of Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 Russian attacks southeast of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, Russian troops continue trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Over the past day, Russian forces launched 6 unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian troops' positions.

Russian army launches 2 missiles, 19 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, 82 combat clahses took place. In total, the Russian army launched 2 missiles, 19 air strikes, and 68 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and s.ettlements

Ten settlements across Ukraine suffered air strikes.

Over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces hit an important target and 3 Russian personnel concentrations

Over the past day, Ukrainian missile forces struck 3 Russian concentrations of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 1 other important target.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, depleting the Russian troops along the entire front line.

  • On January 25, 65 combat clashes took place. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 9 Russian attacks in the Avdiivka direction.
