Drone attack sets gas plant, oil pumping station ablaze in Russia’s Volgograd region

Ukraine's General Staff confirmed strikes on Russian targets.

"Ukrainian defense forces struck the Korobkovsky gas processing plant and the Yefimovka linear production dispatch station in the Volgograd region. Explosions and fires were recorded on the territory of both enterprises. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are consistently implementing measures aimed at undermining Russia's military and economic potential in order to stop the armed aggression against Ukraine. Earlier, Volgograd region governor Andrey Bocharov shared the information about the attack on his Telegram channel.

“Last night, the air defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense repelled a massive drone attack on the territory of the Volgograd region. In the Kotovsky district, debris from a UAV partially damaged a boiler house building. Fires also broke out at fuel and energy facilities — firefighting services promptly arrived and are extinguishing the blazes on site.”

The Russian outlet Astra reported that, according to local residents, the Lukoil-Korobkovsky gas processing plant is on fire.

The Korobkovsky gas processing plant is the largest natural gas processor in the Southern Federal District.

In addition to the gas processing plant in Kotovo, the Yefimovka linear production and dispatch station (LPDS), located about 8 kilometers to the south, also caught fire.

The Crimean Wind monitoring group reported the information, citing satellite imagery.

The dispatch station and nearby oil pumping station are part of the Volgograd Regional Oil Pipeline Administration of the Transneft-Privolga joint-stock company. The LPDS is a key production facility that ensures the uninterrupted operation of the region’s oil infrastructure and oversees the functioning of multiple pumping stations and oil product sections under its management.
