Ukraine strikes major Russian oil refinery, military targets in overnight attacks
Ukraine’s Defense Forces said they struck the Kirishinefteorgsintez oil refinery in Russia’s Leningrad region overnight, as well as several other military targets inside Russia and occupied Donetsk
A fire broke out at the refinery following the strike, Ukraine’s General Staff reported, adding that the results were still being assessed. The Kirishinefteorgsintez plant is one of Russia’s largest, with an annual processing capacity of 18.4 million tonnes of crude.
Ukraine also reported damaging a Russian Buyan-M small missile ship in the Lake Onega area in Karelia. In the Kursk region, strikes targeted a Garmon radar system and a transport-loading vehicle linked to the Iskander missile complex, while in occupied Donetsk, a command post of Russia’s 8th Army was hit.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing a systematic campaign to destroy Russian military facilities and weaken its military and economic potential, particularly in logistics, fuel, ammunition, and weapons,” the General Staff said.
