On November 23, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks in the Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, killing 1,100 soldiers

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 2022 to November 24, 2023 are estimated to be:

Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in 4 directions, 64 clashes took place at the front

This was reported by the General Staff.

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops, supported by aviation, conducted assault operations in the vicinity of Synkivka. The Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks there. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing their assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian troops, supported by aviation, keep trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are holding steadfast and inflicting significant losses on the occupying Russian forces. The enemy's offensive actions east of Novokalynove, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 14 enemy attacks in the areas of Marinka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations southwest of Staromaiorske, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian forces conducted unsuccessful assault operations west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, continue to conduct counter-battery combat, and inflict fire on the enemy's rear.

Russian army launched 2 missile and 42 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 64 combat engagements took place. In total, the Russian invaders launched 2 missile and 42 air strikes, fired over 53 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. 

At night, the Russian troops struck again at Ukraine using 2 Kh-59 guided missiles and 3 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Air defense forces destroyed all attack drones.

Air strikes hit various locations: Kostobobriv, Chernihiv region; Oleksandria, Sumy region; 5 settlements in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Serebryanske forestry, Luhansk region; 10 settlements in Donetsk region.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

Defense Forces destroyed an enemy air defense system and 4 artillery pieces

Over the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation struck 11 military positions.

Missile troops hit 3 manpower con, a command post, an ammunition depot, an air defense facility and 4 enemy artillery pieces.

  • On Novenber 23, the Russian troops launched the third wave of assault in the Avdiivka direction.
