Activists send greetings from Crimea on Ukraine’s Unity Day
On the Day of Unity of Ukraine, activists of the Yellow Ribbon Movement distributed photos with congratulations from different cities of the Russian-occupied Crimea
They reported this on their Telegram page.
“Congratulations on the Day of Unity continue to come from different cities of Crimea. Kerch, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Alushta, Armyansk - one, united Ukraine,” the message says.
Paper, patches, stickers, inscriptions — the activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement have been using any tools to remind us that Crimea was, is and will be Ukrainian.
“Today the action has once again united hundreds of brave and strong people. We are the voice of millions of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories. Despite the risks, we show that Ukraine is united even in the darkest times,” the activists wrote.
Ukrainian journalist Vitaliia Mazur pointed out one photo from Yalta, where a woman blurred her manicure to avoid being recognized by Russian occupation authorities her nails. “Just imagine such a life. Hold on, dear ones,” she wrote.
“Crimea is the largest, most active region of Ukrainian resistance. Because the Crimean peninsula is Ukraine!” the Yellow Ribbon activists added.
