Counter-offensive actions will begin after partial de-occupation of Kherson region - Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier
Ihor Sholtys, a Lviv City Council member who serves with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has said that Russian aviation is active in the southern direction, because Russia doesn't have sufficient resources for preliminary artillery preparation for the offensive.
He expressed his opinion on Espreso.
"In the south, the war has acquired a positional character and is similar to 2016 in the Donbas. But the intensity of artillery is much higher on the part of the enemy, besides, the enemy has started to use aviation quite often. Su aircraft are actively working in the southern direction, and this indicates that the enemy does not have sufficient resources for preliminary artillery preparation for an offensive in this direction," explained the soldier.
Ihor Sholtys noted that these are certain attacks by the enemy, so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would stay on their toes and no counteroffensive actions were foreseen.
"However, this will still happen in the near future after the partial de-occupation of the Kherson region and the possibility of cover from the flank of the Zaporizhzhya direction," Sholtys assured.
