Diia app helps 20,000 foreigners get residence permits in Ukraine
Over the past two years, more than 20,000 permanent and temporary residence permits have been issued to foreigners through the Diia app in Ukraine
Ukraine's Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov shared this information on September 26.
According to him, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers confirmed the success of this initiative, and electronic certificates will now be used permanently. Fedorov noted that, in total, foreign citizens have obtained over 18,300 permanent residence permits and more than 2,800 temporary residence permits through Diia.
He also mentioned that a residence permit in Diia allows users to create a Diia.Signature and access various government services.
"Whenever you need an ID, you can simply show the document on your smartphone, without worrying about forgetting your physical ID at home. We are also working to make it easier to share copies of IDs through Diia," he said.
