China prepares for visit of two high-ranking EU officials
China's EU Ambassador Fu Kong says that the EU officials, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel, may visit China soon
This is reported by Reuters.
According to the diplomat, China has already begun preparations for the visit of two European officials: Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel are expected to visit China in the first half of 2023.
In an interview, Fu Kong said that the EU's anger at China over Ukraine was “very irrational” and that China wants “this issue” to not affect the development of ties with the Union.

On February 24, China published a document with a position on a 'political settlement' of Russia's war against Ukraine. The so-called peace plan consists of 12 points.

The White House quickly responded to the 'peace plan' by noting that they could stop at the first point - respect for sovereignty. US President Joe Biden rejected the 'peace plan' proposed by China, suggesting that its implementation would benefit only Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reacted to the plan, expressing his desire to meet with Xi Jinping.
