Canada’s Leopard 2 tanks donated to Ukraine arrive in Poland
All eight Leopard 2 battle tanks that Canada promised to provide to Ukraine have arrived in Poland
Canada's Minister of National Defense Anita Anand wrote about this on Twitter.
“It’s official: All eight Leopard 2 battle tanks promised by Canada for Ukraine have now arrived in Poland. We’ll continue to stand with Ukraine, and to provide Ukrainians with the tools that they need to fight and win this war,” she tweeted.
Canada has consistently provided arms and other types of assistance to Ukraine. On January 26 this year, Anita Anand said that her country would provide Ukraine with four Leopard 2 tanks. In addition, the Canadian military will be sent to help train Ukrainian crews. On February 4, it was reported that the first tank from Canada was sent to Ukraine.
On February 24, the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada would provide Ukraine with 4 more Leopard 2 tanks and impose additional sanctions against Russia.
On April 11, Canada announced additional military aid to Ukraine, including the delivery of tens of thousands of assault rifles, machine guns, and millions of rounds of ammunition.
