Canada officially announces transfer of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced that her country will provide four Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The Canadian military will help train Ukrainian crews
Anand announced this during a press conference.
"These four tanks (Leopard 2 - ed.) are combat-ready and will be deployed over the coming weeks," Anand added.
She claims the tanks will be transferred to Ukraine to combat the Russian invasion. At the same time, the minister emphasized that Canada is providing instructors, spare parts and ammunition.
Anand states she does not rule out the transfer of more such equipment in the future. It is known that Canada has 82 Leopard 2 tanks of various modifications in service.

On January 25, it became known that Ukraine would receive 14 Leopard 2 tanks from the Bundeswehr. Germany also allowed partner countries to provide Ukrainian defenders with German tanks from their own stocks. On the same day, Joe Biden officially announced the delivery of 31 American-made M1 Abrams tanks and other equipment to Ukraine.

Biden also said that the US, together with its allies, would provide Ukraine with 3,000 artillery systems, ammunition, and air defense systems, and that 300 armored vehicles were already on their way to Ukraine.
