Bakhmut is black hole for Russians – military expert Zgurets

He said this on Espresso TV.

"If in the Bakhmut area there are all the prerequisites for destroying the enemy with a 1:10 ratio and there is an opportunity to hold the defense. Today we see a balance between certain political and military decisions. The command of the Ground Forces of Ukraine is betting on the fact that we will still be able to destroy the enemy in Bakhmut. But there also are conditions for the withdrawal," he explained.

According to him, the Ukrainian army has the experience of offensive and retreat.

"The Bakhmut direction is a black hole where a significant number of Russian forces are being destroyed. The coming days will be indicative of the situation around Bakhmut. The new defense lines are already being prepared," Zgurets said.

• The number of Russians trying to advance is incredibly large, as noted by the military. 

• British intelligence analysts said the warm weather conditions make it difficult for armored vehicles to move around Bakhmut, but that would benefit those on the defensive.
