Andrzej Duda commemorates Ukrainian People's Republic soldiers
President of Poland Andrzej Duda has knelt in front of a monument to the soldiers who defended the Ukrainian People's Republic (1917-1921), honoring their memory
This was reported by the office of the Polish president.
"President Andrzej Duda commemorated the soldiers of the Ukrainian People's Republic, who fought together with the soldiers of the Polish Army against the Bolsheviks in 1920, at the Orthodox cemetery in Warsaw," the message reads.
The president's office noted that every year on the eve of the Day of the Polish Armed Forces celebrated on August 15 the soldiers who died in battles with the Bolsheviks in 1920 are commemorated at Warsaw's Powonsk Cemetery.
