Air Force destroys 16 Russian missiles during night attack

In total, the enemy fired 32 air- and sea-launched cruise missiles at Ukraine.

It is noted that the enemy used 12 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from two Tu-95ms strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea, 8 Kalibr cruise missiles from a frigate in the Black Sea, 12 Kh-22 cruise missiles from six Tu-22m3 long-range bombers from the Kursk area, and two Kh-59 guided missiles from two Su-35 tactical aircraft from the Melitopol area.

In turn, AFU Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said that the enemy fired in total 36 missiles:

• 12 Kh-101/555 air-launched cruise missiles

• 8 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles

• 12 Kh-22 air-launched anti-ship cruise missiles

• 3 Kh-59/31 guided aircraft missiles

• 1 Oniks anti-ship missile

The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 14 Kh-101/Kh-555, Kalibr cruise missiles and two Kh-59 guided missiles. A total of 16 missiles were destroyed.

"Unfortunately, some of the Kh-22 cruise missiles have reached their targets, hitting critical infrastructure. Currently, we have no firepower capable of destroying this type of missile," was added.

According to Vladislav Nazarov, spokesman for the Southern Military Command, air defense forces destroyed 8 Kalibr missiles fired from the Black Sea - 6 over Mykolaiv and 2 over Kherson. They also shot down 2 air-launched missiles aimed at the central regions.

Russian strategic aviation also attacked a critical infrastructure facility in the Kirovohrad region. The fire is being extinguished, and information about the victims is being clarified.

• On the night of February 16, Russians attacked various regions of Ukraine. A critical infrastructure facility was hit, 7 buildings were destroyed, an industrial enterprise and 30 houses were damaged. There is a killed and wounded person.

• According to Natalia Humenuk, head of the press center, on the night of February 16, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Ukraine involving strategic aviation, drones and missile launchers.
