Netherlands pledges €65 million to Ukraine Energy Support Fund
The Dutch government has decided to contribute €65 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak stated this, following negotiations with the Dutch government’s special representative, Erika Scholten.
He noted that the Netherlands’ contribution is crucial for the ongoing repair campaign being carried out in preparation for the upcoming heating season.
“Thanks to these funds, we will be able to partially cover urgent needs. Stable energy supply is essential for the functioning of the economy, critical infrastructure, social services, and other areas of life in Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful for this assistance,” said the Deputy Minister.
The Dutch representative, in turn, emphasized that energy will remain one of the main priorities for her country in providing further support to Ukraine.
The officials also discussed the needs of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector in terms of equipment, particularly for the gas production industry, which has recently been regularly targeted by Russian attacks. Both parties agreed to explore potential cooperation in this area in more detail.
- Additionally, donors from Switzerland and the Netherlands recently provided Ukraine with 9 backup power plants with capacities ranging from 600 kW to 1,500 kW.
