Japan, Ukraine sign 10-year term security agreement: what it provides for
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have signed a bilateral agreement under which Japan will provide Ukraine with $4.5 billion

The agreement outlines that Japan will provide Ukraine with $4.5 billion this year and continue supporting Ukraine over the next decade. Assistance will focus on security and defense, humanitarian aid, and recovery efforts. Ukraine will receive non-lethal equipment, and cooperation will broaden in information technology and demining efforts.
Japan also pledges medical treatment for wounded Ukrainian soldiers, collaboration on intelligence and classified information protection, and efforts to strengthen critical infrastructure and cyber security. The partnership aims to ensure free navigation and safe sea lanes. Japanese involvement will extend to engaging the private sector and government agencies in Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction.
Furthermore, the agreement promotes industrial cooperation, exploring opportunities for Ukraine's industrial development through private sector participation, joint ventures, and research initiatives.
