Le Figaro reported the information.

The article states that the resolution appeals to the European Union, NATO, and other allies to “continue and increase their political, economic, and military support for Ukraine” in response to Russian aggression.

The text also urges the EU to “use frozen and confiscated Russian assets (…) to support Ukrainian resistance and Ukraine’s reconstruction.”

Additionally, the resolution mentions key issues for discussion, including Ukraine’s EU accession process, the potential presence of French troops in Ukraine if a peace agreement is signed, and the import of Russian gas by European states—something Paris calls to “put an end to.”

  • On February 21, Reuters reported that Russia might agree to use its frozen assets, amounting to $300 billion, for Ukraine’s reconstruction as part of a peace deal but would insist that part of the funds be allocated to temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
  • Investment banker Serhii Fursa explained why European countries find it easier to finance aid to Ukraine from their own budgets rather than tapping into frozen Russian assets.
