Borrell calls on EU countries to transfer air defense systems from their arsenals to Ukraine

EU High Representative Josep Borrell said this, Ukrinform reports.
"We cannot rely on the United States alone. We have to take responsibility and stop saying the United States has to do something... We have to do it. We have Patriot, other air defense systems. We have to get them out of our warehouses, where they are "just in case", and transfer them to Ukraine, where the war is raging. I am convinced that we will do it, but we have to do it quickly," the diplomat said.
He regretted that domestic politics in the United States had delayed the provision of aid to Ukraine.
- On April 10, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine had found more than 100 available Patriots in the world and was seeking to obtain at least 7 such systems as soon as possible.
- On April 13, it became known that Germany would transfer another Patriot system to Ukraine.
- On April 17, the German government launched an initiative to find and provide Ukraine with additional air defense equipment.
- On April 18, Helmut Rauch, CEO of the defense company Diehl Defense, announced the delivery of an additional Iris-T air defense system to Ukraine.
