Biden administration races to deliver remaining aid to Ukraine before term ends
U.S. President Joe Biden's administration is pushing to allocate all remaining funds to support Ukraine before his term ends on January 20
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said this during a briefing, Ukrinform reports.
"I don't have any numbers or estimates for you on how much money will or won't be left (to help Ukraine - ed.) over the next 45 days... but we are committed to realizing that money," said a Biden administration spokeswoman.
In this way, she commented on recent media reports citing administration sources that the current government is unlikely to use all the remaining funds from the aid package passed by Congress in April.
When asked whether the current president is worried that his successor in the White House will stop aid to Ukraine if there are funds left, Jean-Pierre said that this process should be allowed to develop.
At the same time, she recalled that the support for Ukraine was adopted on a bipartisan basis, and this should not be forgotten.
- The White House has developed a strategy to strengthen Ukraine's military position. It includes military assistance and new sanctions against Russia.
- On December 2, the United States announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth $725 million.
