AFU repel Russian attacks in 11 settlements and strike 17 concentrations

This was reported in the morning briefing on December 30 by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian troops are trying to advance to Bakhmut and improve the tactical situation at Lyman and Kupyansk directions.

Over the past day, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near 2 settlements of the Luhansk region and 9 of the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian Armed Forces strike control points, warehouses, weapons and equipment

Over December 29, Ukrainian aviation  conducted 12 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons, military equipment, and a strike on the Russian air defence position.

Missile and artillery units also hit 5 Russian control points, 5 manpower concentrations and an ammunition warehouse.

Over the past day, Russian militants launched 85 missile and 35 airstrikes, as well as 63 MLRS attacks.

"The threat of air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure of the country remains. Russian occupants continue to terrorize the civilian population of Ukraine," the General Staff wrote.

Russian army shells peaceful cities with aircraft, tanks and artillery

The situation on the border with Belarus has not significantly changed, no signs of formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.

On the northern and northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops shelled Leonivka, Chernihiv region; Pavlivka, Sumy region; and 7 more settlements of the Kharkiv region. They also launched army aviation near Velyka Pysarivka, Sumy region.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, Russian troops shelled 17 settlements of Kharkiv, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. They also launched an airstrike near Dibrova.

In the Bakhmut direction of the Donetsk region, Russian forces shelled 20 settlements. They also launched attack drones near Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk and Zalizne.

In the Avdiivka direction of the Donetsk region, Russian troops targeted 5 settlements of the region. They launched airstrikes on Kamyanka and Avdiivka.

In the Vuhledar direction, Russian troops shelled from tanks and cannon artillery 5 settlements of the Donetsk region. They also launched an airstrike at Mykilske.

In Zaporizhzhya and Kherson directions, more than 25 settlements came under Russian fire.

Russian tactical and army aviation also operated near Huliaipole and Stepove in the Zaporizhzhya region and Novosilka in the Kherson region.

• On the night of December 29, Kharkiv suffered a massive attack by Russian drones. A total of 13 Shahed drones were launched at the city, 11 of which were successfully destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.
• On the morning of December 29, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported 3 dead and 6 wounded Ukrainians as a result of the Russian attack, the State Emergency Service reported damage to 28 objects, 10 of which were critical infrastructure.
• On the night of December 29, Russia attacked Kyiv and the region with kamikaze drones.  Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down the drones.
