Russia attacks Kyiv and region with Shahed UAVs. Administrative building is partially destroyed
On the night of December 29-30, Russia attacked Kyiv and the region with Shahed UAVs. Air defense managed to shoot down most of the drones, but debris hit a building in the Holosiivskyi district
This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
"Russia continues to carry out massive air attacks on the capital of Ukraine. After yesterday's missile attack, which did not bring results to the aggressor, tonight the capital withstood the attack of Iranian Shahed UAVs," the statement reads.
Thus, 5 Russian drones were spotted in the airspace of Kyiv. Air defense forces engaged all targets.
However, one of the Shahed kamikaze drones hit an administrative building in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, by which the building was partially destroyed, and the windows in a residential building nearby were damaged.
"There was no information about the victims. All the data is being clarified," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Earlier, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksiy Kuleba reported: "Night attack by Shahed drones. Russia again aimed at our infrastructure facilities. Air defense forces repelled the drones. Preliminary, there are no hits."
Emergency services are working at the sites of the downing.
At 02:35 am, air defense was triggered in Kyiv. An air alert in the region was announced at 01:56 am.

On December 29, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine with missiles and drones.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported three dead and six wounded Ukrainians as a result of the Russian attack. The State Emergency Service reported damage to 28 objects, including 10 critical infrastructures.
