The State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine reported this at a press briefing.

"The SES immediately responded to the shelling, about a hundred rescuers and more than 15 units of equipment were involved to eliminate the consequences of the shelling. I would like to say that 3 men, 1 woman and 1 child were injured as a result of the shelling," said Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

In particular, he added that the State Emergency Service has connected 87 generators to provide electricity to both critical infrastructure and social facilities.

The spokesman also commented on the situation in Kyiv during the massive strike.

"Several addresses were hit at once: Darnytskyi, Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. In Darnytskyi district, as a result of the fall of a fragment of the downed missile, a two-storey building caught fire and was destroyed, the fire was immediately extinguished," he said.

He also noted that at the second address the roof of the house was destroyed, without burning. Before the arrival of the units, 2 people were rescued, medics provided assistance on the spot and hospitalised people. Also, a 14-year-old girl, who had called rescuers at the scene, was hospitalised.

Oleksandr Khorunzhyi informed that in Pecherskyi district enemy missile fragments fell on a playground.

"In Holosiivskyi district, fragments of a downed missile fell near a car, there were no casualties. In Solomianskyi district the rocket fragments fell on the roof of a 5-storey residential building, fortunately, there were no casualties," he added.

  • In the morning of December 29, air defence was in operation in Kyiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Odesa, Lviv regions, as well as in the capital. At least two people were killed as a result of the Russian attack.
