60 to 70 residents remain in Dvorichna, Kharkiv region - local authorities
In Dvorichna, Kharkiv region, where intense fighting continues, 60 to 70 residents out of a population of 4,000 have remained as of June 22
Andriy Kanashevych, the interim head of Kupiansk district administration, shared the information with Espreso TV.
"Dvorichna has been under pressure (from Russian troops - ed.) for 4 months. It is a zone of active hostilities and shelling. There are almost no local residents left in Dvorichna. Before the hot phase, about 4,000 people lived there, but now, according to our estimates, 60 to 70 residents remain," he emphasized.
Andriy Kanashevych reports that despite the efforts of the authorities to persuade them otherwise, the local residents in Dvorichna have chosen not to evacuate. Approximately 2,000 people still live within a 5-kilometer strip along the front line near the border.
