5 children remain in Avdiivka, I call their parents murderers in their face – town official Barabash

Vitaliy Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka military-civilian administration, stated this on Espreso.

"Indeed, there is a resolution on the evacuation of children, but only Bakhmut falls under the criteria. Now another mechanism has already been launched - there must be several consecutive decisions of the regional authorities, local administrations, coordinated with the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the administration, 13 communities will soon be allowed to forcibly evacuate children," he said.

Barabash added that there are currently 5 children - 5 families - in Avdiivka.

"Three children were evacuated yesterday evening and this morning. Now there are five remaining in the city. I hope that the parents will agree to the evacuation - no beliefs of "Russian world" in their heads are worth the children's lives. I tell them straight in their faces: "I have no respect for you." And I don't want to call them parents. "You are murderers. Period". This is my personal opinion, I feel that way about them. It is simply impossible to keep children under such intense shelling for more than a year. We understand what’s going to happen to these children - how mentally broken they’re going to be. They will have to deal with a lot," concluded Barabash.
