Entrepreneur Kostyantyn Zhevago stated that he has not contacted any judge of the Supreme Court since 2019

Zhevago stated this in an interview with Forbes.

“I can confirm with absolute certainty, without any doubt, that I have no knowledge of any judge from the Supreme Court. I haven't had any encounters with any Supreme Court judge, not even by chance, since 2019. Why 2019? Well, prior to that year, I was a member of parliament and served in the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada. During that time, we did review candidates for various levels of the judiciary, so there may have been occasional meetings. However, as for these specific judges, I am not aware of their professional growth or whether they became Supreme Court judges or not," Zhevago clarified.

Furthermore, he clarified that he has never personally had any communication with Oleh Horetsky, the managing partner of Horetsky and Partners law firm.

"I can confirm that Horetsky and Partners has been providing legal services to Poltava and Yerystivka mines since 2019. They receive payment based on the contracts they have entered into with these mines over the past four or five years. They have won some cases and lost others, and at present, the company is handling two unrelated cases in the Court of Appeal in Lviv and either Kyiv or Poltava,” he said.

"I don't have the exact details, but our lawyers informed me about these two cases. If I were to communicate with Mr. Horetsky, it would have been through the assistance of our lawyers, using computers. I don't have his phone number or email address, and I have never personally interacted with him," Zhevago emphasized.

  • In an official letter sent on May 19, Kostyantyn Zhevago clarified to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office that he has no involvement in the illegal activities under investigation by law enforcement agencies regarding the corruption case in the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
