Zelenskyy's party expels MP who assisted draft dodgers to flee to EU

MP Liudmyla Marchenko was expelled from the Servant of the People party after being served with a NABU suspicion of influence peddling and receiving undue advantage

This was reported by NV with reference to the head of the party Olena Shuliak, Espreso reports.

On July 5, when the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine caught Marchenko's assistant on a bribe, Shuliak initiated a meeting of the Ternopil regional organization of the Servant of the People to expel Marchenko from the political council. The Ternopil regional organization terminated Marchenko's powers. On July 6, the head of the party issued a decree expelling the MP from the party.

Liudmyla Marchenko was elected to the parliament as №63 on the electoral list of the Servant of the People party. Prior to that, she worked at Epicenter K - hypermarket chain in Ukraine.

  • As a reminder, on July 5, the MP's house was searched on suspicion of corruption in the Ternopil region.

  • On July 11, Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office’s and NABU detectives served a notice of suspicion of influence peddling to a member of parliament and her assistant. In exchange for USD 5,300, the MP and her assistant promised the man to enter his data into the Shliakh system for traveling abroad.
