Zelenskyy wears black suit for first time since full-scale invasion ahead of Trump meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is attending the NATO leaders' summit in The Hague. For the first time since Russia's full-scale invasion began, he appeared in a classic black suit instead of his usual military-style attire
Espreso reported this, citing a video circulating online.
The NATO summit began in The Hague on Tuesday, June 24, and will continue for two days. Zelenskyy has already met with the NATO Secretary General, the Dutch Prime Minister, U.S. Senators, and the President of France. The event brings together leaders from all 32 NATO member states, along with partner nations.
Unlike his customary olive-green military wear, Zelenskyy arrived at the summit dressed in a black tailored suit, including a black blazer, black linen shirt, and black trousers. He paired the outfit with tactical black footwear rather than the formal dress shoes typically worn by officials at public events.
As before, the intention behind the look is to serve as a visual reminder of the ongoing war Russia is waging against Ukraine.
According to NV, Ukrainian menswear designer Viktor Anisimov created the outfit. Zelenskyy first wore an ensemble from this capsule collection — commissioned by the presidential protocol service — at Pope Francis's funeral in the Vatican in April 2025.
