Zelenskyy visits Ukrainian troops' positions in Avdiivka

The president visited the positions of the 110th Detached Mechanized Brigade named after Major General Marko Bezruchko.
"One of the most difficult areas of the frontline. I thanked the soldiers personally. We discussed the defense situation and basic needs with the commander. I honored the best soldiers with state awards and presented the Gold Star of the Hero of Ukraine to Junior Sergeant Ihor Tymoshchuk. I thank everyone who is on the front line for their service, for this year, which the whole country has survived thanks to such soldiers. Those who defend our country against all odds. To those who deliver combat results every day," Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.
The President's Office reported that Zelenskyy also visited the frontline surgical team of the 59th Military Mobile Hospital of the Military Medical Clinical Center of the northern region.
He inspected the work of the doctors who receive wounded defenders from the stabilization centers of the Lyman and Soledar military areas and provide them with medical care.
Zelenskyy awarded the doctors with the Order of Courage, III class, and the Order of Princess Olha, III class.
"Thank you for everything you do, for bringing our boys and girls back to life - our warriors. I wish you health, because your mission requires a lot of strength and health," he said, addressing the military medics.
Zelenskyy also spoke to the wounded soldiers and presented them with awards.
"Thank you for fighting so hard. I congratulate you on the holidays. I wish you a speedy recovery. Victories next year!" the President said.
- Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Marinka and Kupyansk sectors over the past day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also killed 850 Russian soldiers.
