Zelenskyy, Trump discuss Orbán’s stance on Ukraine’s EU membership
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had talked with U.S. leader Donald Trump about Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's blocking of Ukraine's European integration process

He said this during the EU Enlargement Summit, noting that he had asked President Trump for support in resolving the issue. According to Zelenskyy, Trump assured him that he would do everything in his power to help.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that Trump supported Ukraine’s future membership in the EU. He added that they had discussed this topic and that Trump understood it was the choice of the Ukrainian people. Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine was part of Europe geographically, politically, and historically, and that its citizens genuinely desired EU membership. He expressed confidence that Europe fully supported Ukraine’s accession to the EU and that Trump also shared this position.
- Earlier, the media reported that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was preparing to form a new alliance within the EU — together with the Czech Republic and Slovakia, he plans to create an alliance that will oppose active support for Ukraine.
