Zelenskyy signs decree on invalidity of Russia's acts that violate Ukraine's sovereignty, integrity
On October 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree recognizing Russia's acts that violate Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity as null and void.
The corresponding decree №687/2022 appeared on the website of the President of Ukraine.
"Based on the fact that the territory of Ukraine is integral and inviolable within its internationally recognized state border, and the sovereignty of Ukraine extends to its entire territory. In accordance with the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine dated August 24, 1991, the territory of Ukraine is indivisible and inviolable," the message emphasises.
In accordance with international agreements, as well as with the Russian Federation, on the Ukrainian-Russian state border of January 28, 2003, which cannot be terminated in accordance with Art. 62 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of International Treaties.
Zelenskyy emphasized: "In accordance with Articles 2, 8, 9, 17, 18, 102, 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decree to recognize as null and void, that is, those that do not create any legal consequences, the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation dated March 17, 2014 № 147, dated February 21, 2022 №71 and № 72, dated September 29, 2022 №685, dated September 29, 2022 №686, as well as any other decisions, acts, and agreements adopted, issued and concluded on the basis of and /or in connection with the implementation of the specified decrees".
