Zelenskyy says 132,000 foreign parts found in Russian arms
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia must face consequences for its actions and urged greater pressure on the Kremlin, including stronger sanctions and more long-range capabilities for Ukraine’s military
In a post on social media, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks almost daily, recording more than 1,500 strike drones, 1,280 guided aerial bombs, and 50 missiles in the past week alone. He added that over 132,000 foreign components from countries including Europe, the United States, China, Japan, and others were found in captured or destroyed Russian weapons.
Zelenskyy warned that such technologies enable Moscow to mass-produce arms “for the sake of terror against our people” and cautioned that the threat could spread to Europe and the Pacific if these supplies are not stopped.
"We must cut off all possible supply routes and means of evading sanctions, and exert pressure on the countries and individual companies that aid them. Our partners have this power – the power that must protect life," Zelenskyy said, adding that Ukraine expects the European Union's 19th package of sanctions to be "truly painful" and that the United States will join the Europeans in tightening restrictions.
The president also thanked partners for the assistance already provided.
In conclusion, Zelenskyy reiterated the need for a comprehensive approach: strengthening Ukraine’s defense, actively deploying long-range capabilities, and applying coordinated international pressure through sanctions and supply blockades to force Russia to end the war.
