Zelenskyy holds meeting of Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff
On Friday, March 10, Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff and discussed the possibility of reinforcement in Bakhmut, ammunition needs, and border protection
The President of Ukraine announced this during his evening address.
Zelenskyy noted that during the meeting of the Chiefs of Staff, he listened to reports from the Commander-in-Chief and the commanders of the directions on the situation on the frontline and in the defense of the state in general.
In particular, they discussed the east and south and the situation on the border.
“Bakhmut and our ability to reinforce ourselves there. Our response to terrorist attacks. Protection of Kherson and the communities of the Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. Our needs for ammunition and supplies,” Zelenskyy outlined the main topics that were discussed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy traditionally thanked the soldiers for defending Ukraine. In particular, he noted the soldiers who are defending Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
“Every day they give good reasons to be grateful, they give good results for Ukraine. The marines of the 35th and 36th Detached Marine Brigades, the 55th Detached Artillery Brigade, the paratroopers of the 79th Brigade... Thank you, warriors! And I would like to thank the soldiers of the Shaman special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate for Bakhmut and for their strong participation in the defense of the city,” he said.
Zelenskyy also mentioned the gunners of the 44th Detached Artillery Brigade, who are fighting in the Zaporizhzhia sector and "skillfully destroying enemy positions and equipment," and thanked them.
According to Serhii Cherevatyi, a spokesman for the Eastern military grouping, almost 200 Russians were killed near Bakhmut over the past 24 hours.
