Zelensky told U.S. congressmen about the situation on front line and voiced his forecasts for its development
Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Kyiv with U.S. congressmen - a delegation of the House of Representatives from the Republican Party led by Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner
Zelenskyy said this during his evening address.
"We talked, of course, about Ukraine's active actions. Of course, we talked about our common victory," he commented on the topic of the talks with the congressmen.
According to the Office of the President, during the conversation, Zelenskyy told the congressmen about the situation on the front line and outlined a forecast for its development in the coming months. He emphasized that the Ukrainian people believe in their army and expressed confidence that Ukraine will achieve its goals.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of transferring the requested security support to Kyiv as soon as possible. He also mentioned the need to provide the Ukraine’s Defense Forces with military equipment and weapons that could influence the further course of hostilities and stop Russian terror against peaceful Ukrainian cities.
The President also thanked the congressmen for their support of Ukraine and willingness to continue to help ensure the victory over the aggressor. He expressed hope that the high level of support and interaction between the two countries would be maintained.
"Bicameral and bipartisan support from the United States, president Biden, and the entire American people has played a critical role in our country’s ability to resist Russia in the war for our freedom and democratic values," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He added that Ukraine will win because the country is fighting "for our freedom and the freedom of our children." He also emphasized that Kyiv highly appreciates the U.S. assistance, not only with weapons, "but also with political and financial support for the Ukrainian people: teachers, health care workers, pensioners."
