The diplomat spoke about this on the air of Espreso.TV.

"It seems to me that at the level of the European theater of operations, the Third World War is already underway, just in a completely different dimension. We are a part of the 100% hot phase of the conventional war. The war has already gone beyond the borders of Ukraine. The war is still localized on the European continent. Russia believes that there will be no response to their provocations", Chaly said.

According to the diplomat, Russia's approach is as follows: they use whatever they want, and the world finds it difficult to answer. Therefore, Russians do not think about the Third World War.

"Russia believes that the weakness of the West will allow them to put pressure and establish their own order in Ukraine. I think they are wrong. For 100% there will be NATO's response to a Russian strike on a participating country. But the question is, what will this response be? Now there is a struggle: on the part of Russia - the build-up of types of weapons, as they have already used almost everything they threatened to use; on the part of the North Atlantic Alliance - the development of red lines that cannot be crossed", said Valeriy Chaly.
