Zelenskyy discusses frontline and long-range weapon needs with Starmer
During his visit to the UK, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer on July 19 to discuss a range of important issues
Zelenskyy wrote about this on social media.
According to him, the main topics of discussion with the British Prime Minister were the situation at the front and the need for long-range weapons.
“He informed me about the approval of the Maritime Security Strategy of Ukraine. We will continue to work together to strengthen our maritime coalition,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine will always be grateful to the UK “for supporting our independence and the lives of our people.”
In addition, according to the Presidential Administration, Zelenskyy and Starmer discussed additional support for Ukraine's defense industry and the prospects for joint production of military equipment. Special attention was paid to the preparation of an agreement on the Centennial Partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
The prime minister also accepted the president's invitation to pay a visit to Ukraine.
- President Zelenskyy arrived in the UK on July 18 to participate in the European Political Community Summit, where he emphasized the importance of Ukraine's air defense. He met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
