President Zelenskyy shared his message on the social network X.

Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine congratulated Sandu on her re-election.
"Congratulations to Maia Sandu on winning the presidential election in Moldova. Ukraine supports the European choice of the Moldovan people and stands ready to work together to strengthen our partnership," he wrote.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Moldova's citizens made a decisive choice of "a path toward economic growth and social stability."
"Only true security and a peaceful, united Europe can guarantee each person and every family the confidence to face tomorrow with hope and certainty," he added.
Ursula von der Leyen
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen congratulated Sandu, underscoring the significance of her leadership for Moldova's European future.
"Congratulations, dear Maia Sandu, on your victory tonight. It takes a rare kind of strength to overcome the challenges you’ve faced in this election. I’m glad to continue working with you towards a European future for Moldova and its people," she said.
Germany
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also extended his congratulations, recognizing Sandu's progress toward European integration.
"Maia Sandu has steered Moldova through challenging times and set it on a European path. Germany stands with Moldova. Congratulations on your re-election," he stated.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock highlighted the difficult election climate, marked by Russian interference and disinformation.
"The people of Moldova have chosen decisively: the majority want to continue toward the EU. My heartfelt congratulations to President Maia Sandu. Attempts to bribe voters, manipulate the elections, and even threats to sabotage polling stations aimed at the core of European democracy. Putin won’t stop," she said.
France
French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Sandu as well.
"Congratulations to Maia Sandu on her re-election. Democracy triumphed over all interference and maneuvers. France will keep supporting Moldova on its European journey," Macron promised.
Poland
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk joined the congratulations, pointing out Sandu’s resilience against Russian propaganda.
"Despite Russia’s aggressive interference in Moldova’s presidential election, Maia Sandu has likely defeated Moscow's favored candidate. Let’s hope this trend continues in other countries in the days and months ahead," Tusk wrote.
Romania
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis also congratulated Sandu, emphasizing her role in Moldova's European future.
"Congratulations to Maia Sandu on a historic victory! Romania stands with Moldova’s people in this success, which firmly aligns the country with the European family," he said.
Georgia
Georgia’s President Salome Zourabichvili congratulated Sandu, drawing parallels to her own country's experiences.
"Moldovan elections are the best 'evidence' of stolen Georgia’s elections: despite similar Russian interference and massive rigging, Moldova was saved by 300.000 diaspora voters… our 1000.000 strong diaspora was barred. Only 34 000 were 'allowed' to vote," Zourabichvili remarked.
- The second round of Moldova’s presidential election was held on Sunday, November 3. Pro-European incumbent Maia Sandu faced off against pro-Russian ex-prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo.
