Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrives in France to join D-Day's 80th anniversary commemoration

Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared the information.
"Today, First Lady Zelenska and I arrived in Normandy, France, for important events and meetings aimed at strengthening our country and promoting the unity among all those who respect human values and life. We will also be honored to participate in a special event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.
He added that the event is a reminder of the courage and determination shown for freedom and democracy.
“Allies defended Europe's freedom then, and Ukrainians do so now. Unity prevailed then, and true unity can prevail today,” the President of Ukraine noted.
Earlier, Le Figaro reported Zelenskyy's arrival in France.
The plane of the President of Ukraine landed at the airport in Cannes-Carpiquet.
Background on Zelenskyy's visit
Earlier it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden in France during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6.
The leaders will discuss the situation in Ukraine and how the United States can continue and deepen its support for Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. On June 7, Zelenskyy will be received at the National Assembly, the French parliament. There, the Ukrainian president is scheduled to deliver a speech before meeting with Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet.
