He said this at a White House briefing.
According to Sullivan, China insists that the war should end diplomatically.
“We didn’t reach any particular plan with respect to diplomacy, in large part because the United States very rigorously adheres to the simple maxim of 'nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,'” said a White House spokesman.
The U.S. National Security Advisor emphasized that it is up to Ukraine to decide how it wants to continue diplomatic and negotiating processes.
- On August 29, Sullivan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Among the issues discussed was the Russian-Ukrainian war.
