Ukraine should be in "strongest position": Starmer spoke with Trump ahead of his call with Putin

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke with US President Donald Trump on the evening of March 17, ahead of the White House's scheduled talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin today

Starmer told Trump that Ukraine must be in the "strongest possible position" to secure a just and lasting peace. The British Prime Minister and the US President also discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine and Trump’s stated goal of ending it.

During the call, Starmer also briefed Trump on the coalition of the willing, which includes more than 30 countries expected to support Kyiv.
