This is reported by The Guardian.
“You cannot deliver a weapons system that has a very wide reach and then not think about how control over the weapons system can take place,” Scholz said.
According to him, if Germany wants to have control over the weapons supplied to Ukraine, this is possible only with the participation of German soldiers.
“That’s out of the question for me,” he said.
- At the Munich Security Conference on February 17, Scholz said that the "right moment" was needed to provide Ukraine with Taurus missiles. Later, he emphasized that if Ukraine were to receive Taurus missiles, his country would have to be directly involved in the launch of the missiles. According to the chancellor, Germany is also not ready to provide long-range missiles, as they could be used to strike Moscow.
