This was reported by Reuters.
Zakharova called the U.S. actions against RT a "witch hunt," accusing Washington of attempting to intimidate its own population.
There will be a response to the actions of U.S. authorities, which blatantly contradict their commitments to ensuring free access to information and media pluralism, Zakharova said.
She added that Moscow’s retaliation might mirror Washington’s approach or take a different path.
- On September 4, the U.S. Treasury imposed sanctions on RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and other Russian propagandists.
