Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov set to join Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska

The press services of the U.S. and Russian ministries reported this.

“Discussion was held on certain aspects of preparation for the upcoming Alaska meeting on August 15 between Russian President V. V. Putin and U.S. President D. Trump. Both sides confirmed their commitment to a successful event,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry.

State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce confirmed the dialogue, stating that the U.S. and Russia “affirmed their commitment” to a successful Putin-Trump summit.

Lavrov to attend Alaska summit

On August 13, the Russian propaganda agency TASS reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will participate in the summit in Alaska.

“Yes, I can confirm Lavrov’s participation in this event, which will take place in Alaska this coming Friday,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexey Fadeev.
