Russia launches direct flights to North Korea

Nordwind Airlines will operate flights to North Korea once a month. At the same time, North Korean airline Air Koryo provides passenger flights between Pyongyang and Vladivostok.

“The two countries have been deepening cooperation after signing a military treaty last year to expand their strategic partnership under mounting international sanctions,” the news agency emphasized, noting that the joint air connection is a sign of strengthening ties between Russia and North Korea.

• Earlier, it was reported that North Korea may deploy additional military units to support Russia as early as July or August 2025, amid deepening military and technical cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.
