Russia launches direct flights to North Korea
On the evening of July 27, Russia launched its first direct passenger flight to North Korea

Nordwind Airlines will operate flights to North Korea once a month. At the same time, North Korean airline Air Koryo provides passenger flights between Pyongyang and Vladivostok.
“The two countries have been deepening cooperation after signing a military treaty last year to expand their strategic partnership under mounting international sanctions,” the news agency emphasized, noting that the joint air connection is a sign of strengthening ties between Russia and North Korea.
- Earlier, it was reported that North Korea may deploy additional military units to support Russia as early as July or August 2025, amid deepening military and technical cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.
