Poland takes cues from Ukraine war, plans drone units in Armed Forces

Poland's Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, has announced the country's decision to establish drone units within its armed forces, citing insights gained from the Russian-Ukrainian war

Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated, "Having studied the experience of the war in Ukraine, we are creating a component of unmanned troops. We are creating units of unmanned aerial vehicles."

Highlighting the broader applications of drone technology, he emphasized that drones can be utilized not only in the air but also at sea and on land. 

"Yesterday, at a meeting with the leadership of the Naval Forces, we talked about the use of drones, about how to adapt the technology so that we are not left behind," he added.
